AR213 (G-AIST) for the A2A WoP3 With Accusim Spitfire Mk.1a
I suggest flying this aircraft with the variable pitch 3 bladed prop and bubble canopy as that is how she flies today.
AR213 was built post- Battle Of Britain at Westlands on the same production line as the Shuttleworth collection's Mk.Vc Spitfire. She was then put straight onto training squadrons and was the personal 'hack' of 'Ginger' Lacey. She was then passed around various squadrons and used as the high speed hack of squadrons.
After the war she became un-airworthy until she was used in the movie 'The Battle of Britain' and featured quite extensively in the filming along with P7350 as they where the only Early-mark Spitfire's used for flying sequences. After being passed on from owner to owner she is now owned by Sheringham Aviation, Wycombe Air Park, Bucks and based at Kemble aerodrome. (High resolution + some amendments)
