Avro Bison_For CFS1
By Les Stone
The Avro Bison was designed as a reconnaissance and Fleet Spotter aircraft, making it's first flight in 1921. Twelve Bison Mk1's were built for the Fleet Air Arm in 1923 but main production was during 1925 and 1926, which comprised of 41 Bison Mk2's. The difference being that the upper wing was raised on struts above the fuselage and no dihedral. The Bison was a contender for one of the most ugly aircraft ever made but was well liked by the crews that flew them.
