Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated Tom Clayton has offered to post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

AW-Spitfire-Mk-XIV-FSX-1

AW-Spitfire-Mk-XIV-FSX-1 2026-05-21

No permission to download
DESCRIPTION: This is A.C. Wai's CFS2 Spitfire Mk-XIV made flyable in FSX and probably also in FS2004 though not tested there. Specifically this update is made from his VERSION 3.0 April 2021. That CFS2 model had a very complicated structure for the Virtual Cockpit surfaces and Andrew kindly and graciously made a simpler FSX version. Using that MDL file I added FSX compatible gauges (some custom made) and standard FSX parameters to make the plane fly in FSX.

Internet photos of real Spitfire instrument panels were used to make this panel look correct. The real beauty of this model is the detail and clarity of the internal virtual cockpit. Although the cockpit controls are not animated, I think the VC quality far surpasses many of the other freeware Spitfires.

This download contains the full airplane and all eight of his original textures. The texture files have been restructured to reduce the size of the download and subsequent installation.

Lastly for fun the FSX wing gun effect has been added.

The DDay and Shark variations are available in a separate download, AW-Spitfire-Mk-XIV-FSX-2 available here at SOH, fsx military wwii repaints.

Please see the ReadmeFIRST.txt and original readme.txt in the zip file for more information.
