Bristol Blenheim Mk IVF N8238 WR-L, No.248 Sqn, Coastal Command, North Coates, March 1940
No.248 Squadron formed at Hendon in late 1939 as a night fighter squadron with Blenheim MkIF aircraft, but was transferred to Coastal Command at North Coates in February 1940, when it received the Blenheim MkIVF. It returned to Fighter Command in April, operating over the North Sea from Dyce and Montrose, and returned to Coastal Command in June before being sent to Sumburgh at the end of July 1941.
The colour scheme represented here was worn until June 1940.
