Bolingbroke MkIVT 9896, RCAF, early 1940s.
The original name for the Blenheim MkIV was in fact 'Bolingbroke', and the Canadian-built version of the aircraft, which differed essentially in its use of North American gauges rather than British ones, retained this name. While the RCAF used the aircraft on maritime patrol duty, the most numerous version was the MkIVT which was used in the BCATP Bombing and Gunnery Schools.
While only one single original Blenheim MkIV survives, there are a good ten or fifteen Bolingbrokes, including G-BPIV, currently the only airworthy Blenheim/Bolingbroke, based at Duxford.
