British twin engined cargo aircraft with nose clamshell doors was used between late 1940s to late 1980s by many civilian companies and various air forces around world. This aircraft represents one used by Air Vietnam in the early 1950s in support of French Union Forces in Indochina. Its most notable feat was helping to transport ten dismantled Chaffee tanks to Dien Bien Phu prior to the battle. Each tank needed two Freighter and six C47 flights to get them there.
