Supermarine Spitfire MkV - Malta

This new package contains two models of “non tropical” Spitfires MkV, again both representing aircraft flown in Malta. One is a “LF”, clipped wings, low altitude version, and the other a “standard” MkV C but with the two outboard 20 mm cannon removed as was often the case.
1) MkV B –“T N” – 249 Sqn – Sqn Ldr Joseph Lynch – RCAF - Qrendi - April 1943
This particular aircraft, personal mount of Sqn Ldr J. Lynch, was credited with the 1000th enemy aircraft destroyed by Malta based fighters on 28th april 1943.
2) MkV C –“JM T” – Luqa Wing – Wg Cdr John Thompson – Luqa - April 1943
