1918 Gotha G.IV large twin-engine WW1 bomber biplane built by Luft Verkehrs Gesellschaft (L.V.G.) under license from Gothaer Waggonfabrik A.G., equipped with Austrian 230 hp Hieronymus engines. The aircraft had a top speed of 87.5 mph (76 Kt) and a maximum payload of 1100 lb. About 30 units were delivered to the Austro-Hungarian Air Service at Aviano in 1918, fitted with 8mm (.315 in.) Schwarlose MGs. Even though the engines were not of the high-compression type, their performance was enough to cross the Alps.
