CFS1 Austro-Gotha G.IV Hieronymus, 1918

1918 Gotha G.IV large twin-engine WW1 bomber biplane built by Luft Verkehrs Gesellschaft (L.V.G.) under license from Gothaer Waggonfabrik A.G., equipped with Austrian 230 hp Hieronymus engines. The aircraft had a top speed of 87.5 mph (76 Kt) and a maximum payload of 1100 lb. About 30 units were delivered to the Austro-Hungarian Air Service at Aviano in 1918, fitted with 8mm (.315 in.) Schwarlose MGs. Even though the engines were not of the high-compression type, their performance was enough to cross the Alps. Virtual model upgraded for CFS1 with gunners and guns, CFS1 .air file and SCASM-corrected virtual cockpit view. Photo-realistic custom panel bitmap by Claudio Mussner (for default gauges), and custom sounds by Mike Hambly included, selected and configured by Christoph Ruhtenberg. Excellent conspicuous livery hexagonal lozenge textures by Udo Entenmann. AFX, PCX and SCX source files also included. By Stephan Scholz.
