This machine was flown at Pearl Harbor but the names of the crew are unknown. Its tail code prefix of EI- and the vertical fuselage stripes denote that it was based on the carrier Shokaku. The horizontal black stripe on the tail indicates that it belonged to a section leader. Note that most of these section leader markings were NOT black, this is a rarity. The Japanese text found on the body of the aircraft is known as a Hokoku (Hokoku means Patriotism). The 525 indicates that it was the 525th gift while the smaller text tells that the gift was made possible by donations from "All of Japan's Citizens".
