This folder contains a repaint for the DeHavilland DH98 Mosquito by Dave Garwood, in the colors of DZ546, a B Mk.IV that flew with No.618 Squadron in the summer of 1945. It was built in early 1943 and allocated to 618 Squadron. It was converted for 'Highball' missions in 1944. Highball was the code name of special spherical bouncing bombs to be used for anti-shipping attacks. The conversion included Merlin 24 motors, a four bladed prop, an arrester hook, new windscreen and armour plating. With the collapse of the German threat, 618 was transferred to Australia in October 1944, but no suitable role was found for the squadron, which was disbanded at RAAF Narromine in July 1945.
The Mosquitos were later sold and DZ546 was bought by Ken & Rob Bowman of Dunedoo, who dismantled it with the help of a chainsaw. Parts of the aircraft are currently being used in the restoration of a Mosquito in New Zealand.

Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paint kit by Dave Garwood.
