This folder contains a repaint for the DeHavilland DH98 Mosquito by Dave Garwood, in the colors of VH-KGL Racer #6, former RAAF PR41 A52-324, wehich was meant to participate in the London to Christchurch Race of 1953, but was forced to ditch in the Bay of Bengal on the way to London, when it ran out of fuel. The pilot was Aubrey "Titus" Oates DFC and his navigator - also a pilot - was Douglas Swain DFC. Both survived the ditching unhurt and were rescued.
