The R4D-6S Bu.No. 50783 was built in October 1944. She was accepted by the Navy on October 1944 and assigned to Naval Air Transport Squadron Three (VR-3), headquartered at the Olathe, Kansas Naval Air Station on October 25th 1944. In the Navy record, the designation is R4D-6S, where the 'S' denotes modified for anti-submarine warfare. Anti-Submarine Aircraft Camouflage Scheme II is a light grey color. This aircraft is said to have sunk a German U - boat. Ready 4 Duty, No. 50783 was put into storage in November 1946 at the immense Litchfield Park disposition facility where it remained until April 1947. She was owned by many companies including the Dept. of Agriculture, and the U.S. Forest Service. No. 50783 was purchased by the Confederate Air Force in 1980, now known as the Commemoraive Air Force, and she is still flying today.

My repaint depicts her as close as possible. All the graphics were taken from the original aircraft. Thanks to Manfred Jahn for his great model!
