One of Bar Harbor's priorities was modernizing its fleet. And flew with the Eastern Express logo. Sadly it would only fly in these colours for five months. All DC-3s were retired on the evening of September 6, 1988, ending 52 years of continuous DC-3 passenger service in the contiguous United States. PBA's operating certificate was retired the following day. N139PB sat in moth balls at Naples and Tamiami Airport for the next 3 years. She is owned and operated by PBA. This venerable aircraft is a real oldie, a pre-war DC-3 that never saw any military service. It currently flies with Alexander Aeroplane Co. as N28AA. This is my repaint of her. Thanks to Manfred Jahn for his great model!
