Erwin Welkers Ju86K2 for CFS2 by UncleTgt
Updated 17-JAN-21 Each aircraft.cfg sound folder name corrected
This is a conversion of the Junkers Ju86K2 done by Erwin Welker for CFS 2. I've separated each of the different engined versions as separate aircraft, for ease of installation. See separate uploads of the Luftwaffe Ju86D1 & Ju86E2.
Erwin graciously provided a new model of the radial-engined Ju86K2 with engine cylinder bitmaps.
I've modified the cockpit glass colour & reduced the model shine for camouflage paints.
I've made a new 2D panel bitmap that is WIN 7+ safe, & created a Bombsight fixed window.
A new airfile was developed, & optimised for AI & combat performance.
The sound file used is Lawdog's Gnome-Rhone 14 soundpack.
The animations were changed to use CFS2 commands:
1) I removed the bomb drop animation.
2) I changed the Bomb Doors to use the CFS2 Spoiler Cmd.
3) I changed Crew Hatch from wingfold to use the Canopy front Cmd. (Partially successful)
4) I changed the Ventral Bin deploy from Water Rudder to Concorde Visor.
The textures are: B.357 of 5th Sqn, 3rd Bomber Regiment, Hungarian Air Force based at Debrecen, March 1939. This unit flew bombing raids during the Hungarian-Slovak "Little War" of March 1939.
B.3 + 15 from 4th Bomber Regiment, Hungarian Air Force based Russia, September 1942.
To install, unzip the download to a temporary location & move/ copy files to the matching folder names inside your chosen CFS 2 install.
Thanks to: Erwin Welker for the original aircraft, developed originally for FSX+.
Allen for his DOSmdlc_2, making shine & mdl size changes possible in WIN7+.
Arno Gerretsen for ModelconverterX, such a clever & versatile tool.
Martin Wright for so many useful tools, in this case in particular MDLmat allowing aircraft model material transparency & colour changes.
Kelticheart for his prop bitmaps & exhaust effects.
This is freeware and subject to the usual conditions.
