These textures are intended for use with the F-8E(FN)/F-8J Crusader by Royale French Navy Design. They represent an F-8J BuNo n°150302 assigned to Cdr. D.J. (Taco) Bell, Commanding Officer of Light Photographic Squadron Sixty Three (VFP-63) "Eyes of the Fleet" in 1979. During the 1970s the squadron was stationed at NAS Miramar, California -- aka "Fightertown USA". The unit was responsible for training Reserve F-8 and RF-8 pilots after F-8s were phased out of fleet squadrons. VFP-63 F-8Js were used to provide familiarization to F-8 pilots who would then transition to the RF-8G.
