Fairey Firefly BPF45 skin by UncleTgt
This is a repaint for Morton's CFS 2 conversion of AF Scrub's Firefly.
This aircraft is from 1770 squadron F.A.A. based on H.M.S. Indefatigable APR 45.
It's a small tweaking of Morton's fine paintwork to give it some markings appropriate for the timeframe of the British Pacific Fleet. This particular aircraft was flown by Sub Lt Phil Stott with his observer Lt Ward off Okinawa. Stott became the Royal Navy's only Firefly ace on 12th AUG 45 off Formosa when, whilst part of a 2 plane element covering a US Navy PBM SAR mission, he came across 5 Ki51 Sonias & shot down 2 of them, his wingman accounting for 2 others. The 5th Sonia was also probably destroyed but not claimed by either pilot.
Thanks to
Baldy for the original aircraft model, AF Scrub for a great rework, & Morton for such classy paintwork.
