Fairey Firefly Mk5
Having made a Mki model I couldn't resist carrying on and making a Mk5 which I did by remodelling the MkI.
This new model represents an aircraft of the Australian Fleet Air Arm from HMAS Sydney. On october 26th 1951 it made a forced landing after being shot down by enemy fire. The crew survived to be rescued by a US Navy helicopter.
This is to remember all Allied pilots who served in Korea.
