Although the aircraft is called Ta183 and "Ta" stands for Kurt Tank(aircraft designer and general manager of Focke-Wulf), this aircraft is in fact the design of the aeronautical genius Hans Multhopp.
In late 1944 Germany felt in need of a heavily armed fighter by mid 1945, that could reach 47000 feet to counter Americans possible deployment of the B-29 high altitude bomber. The Ta183 was the winner in the competition against Messerschmitt´s P.1101, P.1110, P1111, Heinkel´s P.1078C, Blohm und Voss´P.212 and Junker´s EF.128.
Focke-Wulf was ordered to develop and produce the Ta183 as quick as possible. But Focke-Wulf never got beyond a full set of detailed drawings, because of the end of the war.
Multhopp´s design of the Ta183 was very different from other fighter aircraft in those days. It had its turbojet engine installed aft in the fuselage, the wings and tailplane swept back at an angle of 40 degrees. But the most remarkable thing was the Ta 183´s tail. The vertical tail was swept back at an angle of 60 degrees and had the horizontal stabilizer attached to the top, - the "T-tail" was born!
The firepower of the Ta 183 would have been comparable with Messerschmitt´s Me 262. Up to four Mk108 30mm cannon in the nose, racks of 12 R4M unguided air to air rockets under each wing and four X4 guided air to air missiles.
Although the Ta 183 was not produced in Germany during the war, post war it "inspired" many aircraft designers. For example the Soviet´s Mig15 and the Swedish SAAB J29 can´t deny its relationship to Hans Multhopp´s Ta 183.

FLIGHT SIMULATOR MODEL:
The model was designed with Aircraft Factory 99 and Aircraft Animator.
Gear, rudder, aileron, elevator, flaps and the pilots head are moving parts.
Some parts and components were rotated with Andrea Cini´s tool "Mover Pro".
Because this aircraft never saw production, the paint-scheme as well as the panel is fictitious.
The Model represents the aircraft of the "Gruppen Kommodore" (Wing Commander) of I/JG52 "Reichsverteidigung".
The nose-colors (black/white/red) indicate, that the pilot is bearer of the "Deutsches Kreuz in Gold" (Golden German Cross).
The Panel is based on a Focke Fulf 190 panel, but with the instruments of the Messerschmitt Me262. "Shift+F2" or a mouse click on the little, round, black button on the bottom left side of the panel will switch the navigation-instruments and the AP.
I hope you´ll like my work and would appreciate your feedback!
