This repaint of Stuart Green's venurable Fokker D.VII is for one flown by Ltn Alfred Fleischer of Jasta 17 while based at Vivaise in September 1918. Thanks to work done by Nils and others at Sim-Outhouse, Stuart's masterpieces can now be flown in FSX as well. Should you have FSX and wish to fly Stuart's Fokker D.VII, download and install the FS 2004 download as you would any for FSX imported over. Then see the below installation instructions on how to install the new model (.mdl) files and the new dsd_xml_gauge3.gau file. The old dsd_xml_gauge3.gau file for FS 2004 will not work in FSX. Installation for FS2004: Copy any texture file in the SG Fokker D.VII folder and paste it back into said folder. Rename the copied folder texture.fleischer. Copy or extract all of the textures in the texture.fleisher.zip into the texture.fleisher folder and overwrite when prompted (two formats are in the zip, 888-8 32-bit and DXT3, choose which you prefer. Only the necessary replacement textures are in the zip. I made a new prop texture and therefore I made a new propwash for the new texture. it is included in both texture, but leave it in 888-8 32-bit format even for the DXT3 textures. Note: overwrite my textures for the Fokker number, weight, and decal enclosed also, as these are made especially for this one texture. They are simple, so are left in DXT3 format throughout. Istallation for FSX: Same as for FS 2004, except if you do not have Stuart Green's Fokker D.VII in your Sim Objects/Aircraft folder, you will need to install it. Also, in FSX use only the 888-8 32-bit textures, not the DXT3 textures for best results. In order for all to work in DSX, you will need to open the SG Fokker D.VII Model folder and replace the .mdl file with the new .mdl file in the zip. Also a new dsd_xml_sound3.gau is in the zip for FSX. Drop this in your Microsoft Flight Simulator X Root folder. A small .jpg thumbnail is in the zip for use in FSX. Just leave it as is for FSX, but in FS 2004 you can delete it. Also included is a Notepad file for the texture.CFG for FSX. Open the texture.CFG for FSX folder and drop the file into the texture.fleischer folder for FSX. Caz. By Cazzie, 2008-12-20 17:49:36 |
