This is a base template to create your own custom skins for the Firepower B-29. It's at 4096 x 4096, so you can use it at high resolution, or downsize it to 2048, or 1024 as you desire.
Keep in mind that the compression artifacts from the dds process will become more noticeable as you go down in size. Typically these are not too bad in even color areas, but if you add insignia with high color contrast, you will start to notice large chunky mis-colored blocks show up along the edges.
Use an image editing program like Photoshop that can work in layers to add the various details for the specific aircraft you're trying to model. Once you have the color texture done, you will want to create an equivalent grey scale reflectance file for the shaders. Any metallic areas should be relatively lighter than matte painted, wood or rubber surfaces. You can tune this to your taste, but a brightness greater than about 12-16% will start to have mirror qualities when using AnKor's shaders.
Once you have the texture done you can substitute it for the Firepower Original by replacing the b_29_t.dds file.
