FSX Scenery Magdeburg City Airport Magdeburg, Germany ADEX ADE
I could not find any FSX scenery for Magdeburg Airport. So, I made one.
Magdeburg's first airfield was on the Cracauer Anger , where Hans Grade also undertook Germany's first powered flight on October 28, 1908. From 1929 there was the east airfield on Berliner Chaussee, which had to be handed over to the Luftwaffe in 1934.
Today's airfield was opened as a commercial airfield on the Leipziger Chaussee on January 4, 1936 as a new airfield for civil air traffic . Regular air traffic began on April 5, 1936.
Air traffic was stopped during World War II . After 1945 the airfield was used by the Soviet Army . From 1951 glider pilots were represented at the site again, from 1952 under the umbrella of the Society for Sport and Technology . Around 1953/54 space was returned to the city. From 1957, Magdeburg Airport was one of the bases for Interflug ’s agricultural flight , along with Anklam , Kyritz , Berlin-Schoenefeld Airport and Leipzig-Mockau.
In 1968 the world championship in motor aerobatics took place on the airfield.
In July 1991, the airport was taken over by Flughafen Magdeburg GmbH, Germany.
