On the night of 28. April 1944 Johnen was hit by Swiss flak while following a British Lancaster into neutral airspace and was forced to land his brand new Bf110 Nightfighter equipped with the latest and greatest German radar developements - at Dübendorf/Switzerland.
Göring "tradet" 12 Bf109G-6 for a guarantee of the Bf110's destruction (and Johnen's return to the Reich), which duly occured on 19. May 1944 in the presence of German observers - but not before the fighter had been dismantled by Swiss technicians who fully documented all it's electronics.
This is a fully functional beta release.
The virtual cockpit was made to test some design technics and to check CFS3's ability to render dense meshes.
Gauges are widely modeled in 3d as opposed to the stock "flat" gauges.
You'll notice that the cockpit surfaces are partly not textured (what shouldn't distract from flying overly much, LOL)
The VC is by far not "out-developed", artwork-wise. Whatever, I have learned from this one what I wanted to.
Having said that, there is a widestly new Bf110 cockpit in the works that will come shipped with the free MAW addon.
Stay tuned!
The external model is on version 1.2 and should be complete.
