One of the best-know 9th AF "jugs", this aircraft was flown by Major Glenn Eagleston, CO of the 353rd FS, 354th FG. At the time(December 1944) the unit was operating from Rosieres-en-Haye in France, and involved in heavy fighting in the Ardennes region.
Major Eagleston was the 9th AF's highest scoring ace, with 18.5 kills, although they were all scored in P-51s.
