This is a modification of the Hurribomber MkIIa skin by Sopwith Chameleon, which I've applied to Thicko's excellent MkIIa (replacing the model with that of the MkIIb trop to get the Vokes filter) and MkIId. I've also modified the dp of the MkIIa to reduce the armament and revise the payloads.
The MkIV was the dedicated ground-attack version of the Hawker Hurricane. It was fitted with a Vokes filter, an armoured radiator and a Universal-type wing with a reduced internal armament of 2x.303 Brownings, but with the capability to carry droptanks, bombs, rockets and 40mm anti-tank guns.
It was designed as a result of the operational experiences of the Squadrons equipped with the MkII "Hurri-bomber". It's operators, along with the MkII Squadrons, helped to design the tactical doctrine later used to great effect by RAF Typhoon units. LF498 was one of the largest batch of aircraft forming one British contract, 1,961 Hurricanes built at Langley in the serial range LB542-LF956.
Many thanks to Thicko for the excellent original aircraft and for allowing me to muck about with the dp's.
Many Thanks also to Sopwith Chameleon for allowing me to modify his Hurribomer skin and for his support and advice.
Cheers.
