JAPmaru1 for CFS2 by UncleTgt
A collection of ships & infrastructure ships & wrecks for use in missions. This model is based off Stuart277's Daifuku class merchant ship. I added some extra detailing (rigging, anchors, open hatches on the wrecks & moored vessels), & demirrored the textures for the model. This allowed me to paint some early war dazzle camo, with a different pattern to each side. But most of the base modelling credit remains with Stuart, as it's his base model G-Max file that provided the starting point.
Models included:
IJN_JapMaru1_UT - the base ship model
plus some infrastructure ship models
JapMaru1_beached_UT - a beached vessel. Still manned, so will defend itself when attacked.
IJN_JapMaru1_moored_UT - a static harbour vessel, with some hatches open & derricks in use. Manned, will defend itself if attacked.
JapMaru1_wreckA_UT - a static wreck model, abandoned
JapMaru1_wreckB_UT - a static wreck model, abandoned
JapMaru1_wreckC_UT - a static wreck model, abandoned
They are all multi-LOD. All models have their own damage models. I've also supplied different textures so you can vary how the individual models appear. You can choose grey, early war dazzle camo, latewar green-grey or latewar green-frey with a camo hull panel.
To install, unzip the download to a temporary location & move/ copy files to the matching folder names inside your chosen CFS 2 install.
Thanks to
Allen for his Making Exploding Objects using FS2002 Tools & Tutorial
Stuart277 for sharing his GMax models, they made the sequences in setting up to create a ship model in GMax much easier to follow after seeing how Stuart arranges things.
Colin Glenndinning, Usio, Psullkeys & the other ship model pioneers for showing what's possible in this old Sim.
Arno Gerretsen for ModelconverterX, such a clever & versatile tool.
This is freeware and subject to the usual conditions
