Usio's IJN Kongo. Built as a Battlecruiser in the UK, launched May 1912, commissioned Aug 1913. Rebuilt in 1929 and upgraded to Battleship status, upgraded again in 1937 to Fast Battleship. In 1942 covered the landings in Malaya, DEI, Midway and Guadalcanal. participated in the Battle of the Philippine Sea and the Battle of Leyte Gulf in 1944, and was torpedoed and sunk by the submarine USS Sealion while transiting the Formosa Strait on 21 November 1944.
