Usio's IJN Ryujo. A Light Aircraft Carrier, launched Apr 1931, commissioned May 1933. Refitted in 1933, 1935, 1939 and 1942 to keep her active. Participated in the attacks on Shanghai and Nanking, the invasion of the Phillippines, Singapore and activity in the Bay of Bengal. Next , was the invasion of the Aleutian Islands, June- July 1942, then to the Solomons after the allied invasion of Guadalcanal. During the Battle of the Eastern Solomons, 24 Aug 1942, Ryujo was hit by 3-4 bombs and a torpedo, was abandoned and sank.
