Usio's IJN Suzutsuki. An "Akizuki" class anti-aircraft Destroyer, launched Mar 1942, commissioned Dec 1942. Used on the Truk - Rabaul run. Jan 1944 off Wake Island, bow and stern blown off by USS Sturgeon - towed back to Kure. 6–7 April 1945, escorted the battleship Yamato from the Inland Sea against the Allied forces fighting on Okinawa. Her bow was torn off by an aircraft torpedo, but, by steaming in reverse, managed to return to Sasebo base. Following the end of the war, Suzutsuki was initially used as a breakwater at Takamatsu, then sold for scrap, November 1945.
