Usio's IJN Tone. A Tone class Heavy Cruiser, launched 1937, commissioned Nov 1938.Served in the attack on Pearl Harbour and Wake, then to the DEI, Indian ocean, Midway, the Solomons, and the Phillipines. In July 1945 was hit by bombs from planes from USS Monterey, and sank in shallow water in Hiroshima Bay off Kure. Raised and scrapped 1947-48
