Overview History Discussion
Development of LeO 45 mainly involving an increase in fin area. This type was the mainstay of production which carried on under the Vichy government even after the armistice of 1940. After the British and Free French forces captured Vichy controlled Syria the situation arose whereby both sides operated this aircraft. The Germans used 50+ LeO 451 as transport a/c as did the Italian air force. When the Allies captured North Africa and then parts of Italy some LeO 451s were used by US forces.

Versions of this a/c were even produced in France after the war seeing service into the 50s.
