Thiis is a repaint for the MIlviz F-100D, representing 48th TFW. The 48th dropped the "Fighter Bomber" designation 8 July 1958, becoming the 48th Tactical Fighter Wing. The three flying units also changed designation, becoming tactical fighter squadrons. This repaint has the gun radome painted black. It is difficult to see in the few pictures that exist if this is the case or not. Most all F-100D's had the gun radome painted black.
