The Mitsubishi A6M2 Model 21 was the standard carrier fighter for the Imperial Japanese Navy at the beginning of the Pacific War. It was known for its excellent maneuverability, performance and range which was achieved by sacrificing all aircraft and pilot protection. It also served as a land based fighter for the Imperial Japanese Navy.
This aircraft is painted in the factory Gray Green used early in the Pacific War. The color scheme is typical of those from the Tainan Air Group stationed in Taiwan though it does not represent any distinct aircraft.
Let me know what you think of this aeroplane!
