Two P51B's from the 352nd Fighter Group.
Made for the P51B by Fightertown Design Group v.2 – Cfs2 version
"Hot Stuff" .
This P-51 was flown by Major Willie O Jackson as part of the 352nd Fg when he was C.O. of the 486thFs. He had 7 confirmed kills but none in this aircraft. The single kill mark denotes a victory he scored in his P-47. He failed to make any kills in "Hot Stuff" before it was shot down over France on 7th June 1944. The pilot on that occassion was Major Ed Gignac who was KIA.
"The West,by Gawd,Virginian"
This aircraft was flown by Lt Robert "Punchy" Powell of the 352ndFg out of Bodney in England. The aircraft was destroyed in a takeoff engine failure accident on the 18 July 1944. Powell walked away from the incident to the amazement of all who saw it. Photo records of the time show that the early P-51s of the 352nd had a far lighter shade of blue applied to their noses than that which was applied later in the war.
