Whitley MkV BC bits + pieces by UncleTgt
This is a collection of mods for Shessi's excellent reworking of Ted Cook's AW Whitley MkV Bomber Command for CFS 2.
This zip contains:
The airfile was created by Peperez, & adopts the distinctive "nose-down" attitude in level flight.
The panel is a direct copy of Shessi's Whitley MkV panels, all I've done is to make it WIN 7 friendly.
I've included some bitmap tweaks for each of Shessi's paints. Mostly they are retints of the interior to tone down the strong greens, but also correct a couple of small errors:
The finflash for Leonard Cheshire is changed to the early war style, correct for late 1940.
The engine nacelle camo for the 58 sqn skin were swapped L to R to match the camoflage better.
The dp includes exhaust effects, & several weapon loads. Because of thw wide variety of loads possible, there is an early war & late war dp file. The early war dp file includes leaflets, paras, the late war dp includes SBCs, paras, glider tow & SOE (paras & supplies) loadouts.
Weapons used are:
Shessi's Leaflet weapon from his Whitley MkV
Bismark13's 250lb & 500lb bomb from his Beaufighter packages
Jim Jacobsen's paratroops, resized & recompiled (20% smaller) so they fit inside the Whitley fuselage.
Jim Jacobsen's supply_airdrop, resized & recompiled (20% smaller) so it fits inside the Whitley fuselage.
The leaflet, paratroop & supply airdrop weapons are included in this pack.
Alphasims RAF_250lb bomb as a placeholder for the SBC incendiary
Shessis own 500lbmc_long, & Brit1000lb bombs
To install, unzip the download to a temporary location & move/ copy files to the matching folder names inside your chosen CFS 2 install.
Thanks to
Ted Cook for a great aircraft, & his willingness to support converting them for use in CFS2
Shessi for his work at bringing older models up to code, & inventing novel solutions so CFS2 can simulate such a wide range of combat operations
Peperez for helping with the challenge of making a more accurate airfile
Bismark13 for his 250lb & 500lb bombs
Jim Jacobsen for his innovative solution to the problem of depicting paratroops within CFS2
Kelticheart for his exhaust effects, & inspiration for the propeller bitmaps
This is freeware and subject to the usual conditions
