This file contains alternative textures for the excellent free FSX model of the De Havilland DH.98 Mosquito B.Mk.IV, by Dave Garwood, Derek Palmer and Gary Jones. The model is available at the Classic British Flight Sim site (http://www.cbfsim.co.uk/CBFS_HOME.php ).

The textures are based on the original paint kit at CBFS and contain parts of the original artwork. My main goal was to create textures which made the model look a bit more used in a realistic way.

The textures depict the aircraft DZ379 from 105 Squadron as it looked in December 1942.

I have chosen to do this particular aircraft because of the roots from my friend and retired Sim-Outhouse Administrator Henry. Who is one of the greatest Mosquito lovers I know. The aircraft wears the code GB-H. GB stands for Great-Britain, where Henry was born (actually not that far from where this aircraft was stationed). And H is of course the “H for Henry”.

The real DZ379 was transferred to 139 Squadron and shot down on the 17th of August 1943, by a German night fighter, while on a mission to Berlin. This mission was a diversionary mission for the famous Peenemünde raid. The crew, F/O A.S. Cook, an American pilot from Wichita Falls, Texas and Sgt D.A.H. Dixon, were both killed.

I hope you will have as much fun using this repaint, as I had making it.

Enjoy,
