This repaint represents McDonnell Douglas F-4J (155852) of VMFA-333 Fighting Shamrocks aboard USS America on Yankee Station in September 1972. 5852 was the replacement aircraft for Maj Lee Lassiter and Capt John Cummings after loosing 5526 to an SA-2 SAM after their shoot down of a MiG-21 just days before. The 2 NV flags represent 2 Mig-21s that Lassiter and Cummings damaged, but only one was confirmed destroyed, while the 2nd MiG, it was later determined, survived. Model and Paint kit by MilViz.
