This livery depicts P-40N #61 of the 89th FS - 80th FG "Burma Banshees" - 10th AF based in Nagaghuti, India 1944.
This plane was probably damaged. A photo shows her with the upper cowl certainly coming from a cannibalized P40 which was decorated with a shark's mouth. The skull, this distinctive sign of the aircraft of the Burma Banshees group, which was painted on the nose of the aircraft has thus been amputated by half of its skull.
