This folder contains a repaint for the A2A Wings of Power III P-47D Thunderbolt, representing P-47D-20-RA 42-6895 IV-F "Oily Boid" as it was flown by Lt. Robert J "Posty" Booth, from Waukesha, WI. He flew with the 369th Fighter Squadron, 359th Fighter Group from East Wretham, UK. Lt Booth was shot down over France on 8 June 1944 in his replacement P-51B 43-7199 also IV-F "Oily Boid". He spent the rest of the war in a POW camp. After the war, after a very short time as a civilian, he rejoined the Air Force as a MSgt and flew as a flight engineer. He returned to flying as an F-84 fighter pilot and flew through the Korean War. He even flew the RB-57 Canberra with a recon squadron in VietNam. He died on Sunday 29 May 2009, aged 85.
