P-47D-27-RA, 42-26785, 'Oh Johnnie' of Lt. Raymond L Knight, 346th FS, 350th FG, 12th USAAF, Pisa, Italy, Spring, 1945. Lt Knight was awarded the Medal of Honor for low level attacks against German airfields in Northern Italy on 24 and 25 April 1945.He destroyed over 20 German aircraft before he was brought down by flak and killed. Lt Knight was the only Medal of Honor winner who flew the P-47 in the European Theatre. Repaint of Krzysztof Malinowski's P-47D-25_MX-E this is just the repainted skin.
