Bloch MB.174
French reconnaissance and bomber aircraft designed and built shortly before World War II. They were, by far, the best aircraft of this type available to the Arm?e de l'Air at the outbreak of war, with speed and maneuverability that allowed them to evade interception by the German fighters of the time. In fact only three Mb 174s were lost to enemy air action. The MB.174 will also be remembered as the aircraft flown by Antoine de Saint-Exupery at his historical mission described in his book Flight to Arras. From the MB.174 was developed the MB.175, a new light bomber that could use 200Kg bombs. In 1947 a little MB.175 series, the MB.175T, was produced for the French Navy. Armed with torpedoes and rockets, it was used until 1950.
