1945 RAAF PBY5A Catalina skin by UncleTgt This is one in a series of repaints for the Virtual Navy's PBY Catalina for CFS 2. This aircraft is from 42 Squadron RAAF during 1945. This aircraft featured in a unique rescue drama. Capt Otto Lieke & his C-47 crew ditched after running short of fuel. After spending 12 days adrift in a rubber dinghy, they were captured & placed in a Japanese hospital on Jamdena Island. The Japanese then radioed that they could be picked up if sent for. This aircraft, piloted by Group Capt S.Campbell which effected the rescue. Thanks to the Virtual Navy for such a great aircraft. This is freeware and subject to the usual conditions.
