This is a standalone of the stock P-47d_25 Skinned as Rabbit,Of the 527th FS, 86th FG, USAAF This was one of the leading units in the Mediterranean theatre, having fought its way through North Africa, Sicily and Italy. During 1944 it received the Thunderbolt and was used not only for hounding German forces in Italy from its main base at Pisa, but also for escorting B-24 bombers on long range missions as far as Berlin itself.
