The Macdonald Douglas F2H-3 Banshee was flown by the RCN between 1955 and 1962 a total of 39 aircraft were purchased from the US.
Three sqn's were equiped with the Banshee VF-807, vF-871 (operational sqn's) and VX-10 test sqn. All of the RCN Banshees were ex US stock and carried the original US BuNos on there tails.
The F2H-3 variant as been painted in the 807sqn livary the original restored aircraft is on exhibition at the Shearwater Aviation museum.
