This repaint is for the new payware RealAir Spitfire Mk IX for FSX and represents Spitfire LF IXb MH434 as it looked in 1995 after being restored by John Romain's Aircraft Restauration Company in Duxford. Perhaps the most famous of all Spitfires still flying today, MH434 was built in 1943 at Vickers, Castle Bromwich. This Spitfire is completely original, and has never been fully rebuilt. It served with the RAF in WW-II and with the Royal Dutch Air Force and the Belgian Air Force after the war before being sold to a private owner in 1956. This aircraft has been in a number of movies, including "The Battle of Britain" and "A Bridge Too Far". In April 1983 MH434 was sold at auction to the late Ray Hanna and became one of OFMC?s founding aircraft. When not in make up for a role in the movies or tv it is painted in it's authentic 222 Sqn. colors and ZD-B code.
