This repaint is for the new payware RealAir Spitfire Mk IX for FSX. Depicted in original WW2-era condition respresenting Spitfire Mk IX LF ML296 DU-N of RAF 312 (Czechoslovak) Sqn. flying from North Weald in 1944. This aircraft was damaged by flak during a low level attack in Holland on September 6th, 1944 and had to make a forced landing 15 kilometers N.W. of Gilze-Rijen AB, near Prinsenbeek. The pilot, Otto Smik, became a POW but escaped and returned to England. Unfortunately he was killed a few months later while flying a Spitfire Mk. XVI.
