The Tone class consisted of two ships, the Tone and the Chikuma. They formed the 8th Division and provided escorts for the aircraft carriers of the Combined Fleet. After Midway, they participated in the Solomons campaigns and were present at the Battles of the Marianas and Leyte, where the Chikuma was sunk. They were painted medium gray, the decks being covered in dark beige linoleum. The white stripes on the funnels disappeared after 1943.
The Tone, returned to Japan in 1945, received a camouflage of two shades of dark and light green forming three irregular horizontal bands along the hull. This was a static camouflage to prevent American raids on the fleet at anchor.
The cat models have the straight catapult oriented 45°.
The simple models have the catapult oriented 0°.
New DP file for the bow wave.
