The destroyers of the K class as well as the J class were assigned in 1940 to the Mediterranean fleet of Alexandria forming the 7th flotilla; In 1940-41 the losses were very heavy,
in 1942 the survivors were transferred to the Home Fleet.
The destroyers of the N class were assigned to the Home fleet or the force K of Gibraltar. Several were transferred to allied navies.

HMAS Napier 1942 G97 Australia two-tone camouflage dark blue and light grey;
HMAS Norman 1942 G49 Australia disruptive camouflage dark grey medium gray blue light grey;
HMS Kandahar G28 1941 Alexandria camouflage dark grey medium grey light grey in geometric areas sunk by mine on 19 12 1941;
HMS Kimberley G50 1940 Alexandria camouflage same shades;
HMS Kimberley G50 1944 admiralty camouflage dark grey green medium grey green white;
Pol Piourun G90 ex Nerissa Poland admiralty camouflage in blue shade;s
RNethN Van Galen G84 Ex Noble Netherlands in 1945 receives a lattice mast and two-tone camouflage.

The Nestor and Nizam are transferred to Australia under the same name painted in medium or light grey. Nestor sunk in the Mediterranean on 15 06 1942. Use stuart277 class J 1941.
Nonpareil is transferred to the RNethN under the name of Tjerk Hiddes painted in medium gray. Use Stuart277 Class J 1942.
Kelly Kashmir Kipling Kingston sunk in the Mediterranean in 1941 or 1942 by German planes. Yhey wore a medium gray camouflage in general. Use Stuart277 Class J 1941 or 1942.
Khartoum lost by an internal explosion 23 06 1940.
The Kelvin (Stuart277 class J 1941) and Kimberley were the only survivors.
