This folder contains a repaint for the A2A Wings of Power III P-47D Thunderbolt, representing P-47D-22-RE 42-26124 C4-Z "Dry Run", the assigned aircraft of Lt Zell Smith, of the 388th FS/365th FG. Hailing from Monroe, Louisiana, Lt. Smith was one of the original pilots of the 365th. He had a very dry sense of humor, which was sometimes mistaken for a serious demeanor, but other pilots liked to fly with him because he exuded confidence. During the October 21, 1944 'turkey shoot', he was credited with shooting down a 109, a 190 and damaging a second 190.
Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paint kit by Martin Catney.
