Thank you Vertigo Studios (RealFlight) for this incredible plane! This texture represents the F6F-3 white 5/BuNo 40315 of Lt Hollis 'Holly' Hills, VF-32, USS Langley, 30 April 1944. Having already earned a place in the history books by scoring the first ever kill in a Mustang, Hollis Hills became a naval aviator in late 1942, and helped form VF-32. He considered himself to be a good shot, and had a chance to show his ability when his new unit went into combat in 1944. Employing German 'Yo-Yo' tactics of diving into a target, making one firing pass and then using his speed to quickly regain altitude, Hills used this aircraft, callsign 'Steele 5', to down three Zekes over Truk Atoll on 29 April.
