Built in Chicago as C-54A-15-DC c/n 10365, USAAF serial 42-72260 in 1944, this aircraft was converted to the fifth Carvair in 1962. It was delivered to Intercontinental/Interocean for Organisation des Nations Unies au Congo (ONUC) missions in the Congo. After operation for several other companies, it joined the British Air Ferries (BAF) fleet in 1973. It was 'wet lased' to Pauling Middle East Limited for operation in the Gulf region from 1974 till 1976. Later it was sold to a french company and finally went to the USA where it crashed at Griffin, Georgia in April 1977.
